Thinking about joining the Albuquerque Civic Chorus? In the beginning of every Spring and Fall season the Albuquerque Civic Chorus invites new singers to join the chorus. We invite new singers, ages 17 and up, to join the first two rehearsals each season. Rehearsals start in the third week in January for the Spring season, and the week after Labor Day for the Fall season. The dates for each season will be posted on this website and on Facebook.  Rehearsals are on Tuesdays evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in Asbury United Methodist Church at 10000 Candelaria NE. Rehearsals start promptly at 7 pm, so please make sure you are at Asbury, in place and ready to sing at 7 pm. No auditions are required. As a community chorus, the chorus is meant to be open to anyone who wants to sing and is willing to commit to attending rehearsals regularly and learning the music. We collect dues each season, which help to pay for the director's and accompanist's salaries, music, rehearsal space, and other chorus expenses. We also require new members to purchase the chorus wardrobe. Women wear long black velvet skirts and a black velvet concert blouse, both can be ordered through us. Men wear black tuxedos. This is for us to retain a professional uniform look as a group. New members will receive our chorus handbook with this and more information at the beginning of the season.
